Family owned. Mission minded.

Our mission is to provide exceptional transportation services that are safe, efficient, and reliable, all while promoting the importance of faith, healthy families, and communities. We believe that by empowering our people to participate in this mission, we will not only create a stronger and more effective workforce but also contribute to the strength of our country and economy. By putting our drivers first and providing exceptional on-time and affordable logistics, we aim to exceed our customers’ expectations and lead the way in the transportation industry.

More than 60 years of transportation leadership.

Founded in 1962 by Bill Morgan, Morgan Van Lines has been providing quality freight transportation services for over 60 years. Starting with just one moving van and a second job, Bill worked hard to grow his business, with his wife Joyce handling office work while also managing the local Sears Department Store. By 1974, Morgan Van Lines had its first fleet of trucks, and in 1985, the company was delivering to all 48 states. Today, the company remains family-owned and operated by Bill’s children, Steve and Bronzie Morgan, who serve as president and vice president.

Safety & Culture

The record is the result of the system.

Two million miles without a DOT reportable accident isn’t luck. It’s what a family-owned trucking company produces when the equipment, the training, and the people are aligned around the same thing — getting drivers home safely, week after week, decade after decade.

Driver Spotlight

Theodore Carouthers

Driver Trainer & Mentor · 35+ years professional driving

Two million miles without a DOT reportable accident — and counting. Recorded since orientation in 2009

Theodore came to MVL in 2009 and never looked back. Since his orientation, he’s logged more than two million miles without a single DOT reportable accident — a record that earned him the 2 Million Mile Gold Buffalo Award and, in 2023, recognition as the Mississippi Trucking Association’s Truck Driver of the Year.

What the awards don’t capture is the quieter work. Theodore is a trainer and mentor for drivers new to MVL — the patient voice on the radio, the steady example in the yard, the person other drivers ask before they ask anyone else.

MVL Safety

Top 6% Safety-Rated Carrier

We’ve held a Satisfactory FMCSA safety rating since 1994, the highest active rating the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration issues. MVL is one of the trucking authorities that carry one. Thirty years of continuous rating doesn’t happen by accident. Here’s how we’ve earned it.

01

Equipment maintenance

PMs by mileage and time. No skipped intervals. Driver-flagged issues go in the shop on the next swap, not the next quarter.

02

Driver training

Veteran trainers, real road time, mentorship that doesn’t end when orientation does. Theodore rides with new hires himself.

03

Bonus incentives

Safe-driving bonuses paid on a regular schedule. Clean record, clean inspections, predictable extra pay every quarter.

04

When something happens

Coaching first, paperwork second. Root cause matters more than fault-finding. We want the next mile to be safer than the last.

Faith, Family & Community

Promote faith. Healthy families. Healthy communities.

It’s part of our mission statement, but more importantly it’s part of how we plan a week. Home most weekends isn’t a recruiting line — it’s a decision we make about which freight we’ll bid on. It’s why our restarts happen at home addresses, not truck stops. It’s why drivers can bring a dog along.

We don’t ask drivers about their faith and we don’t make a thing of ours. The values just inform the operations: tell the truth in recruiting, pay people what you said you’d pay, get them home when you said you would.
